The 2012 Bessies

Television Bureau of Canada is promoting The 2012 Bessies, Canada’s Advertising Film Awards, with a set of three short films, “The Editing Room”, “The Casting Session” and “The After Party”. The 2012 Bessies take place on September 27, 2012, at the Royal Conservatory of Music, Toronto. celebrating the best in creative and craft, with the addition of the Craft Film category and ten new awards. Honours will be given out for Animation, Best Use of Original Music, Casting, Cinematography, Colourist, Directing, Editing, Production Design, Sound Design, Special Effects and Compositing. In addition, the Kari Award will go to this year’s Best Actor or Actress. Other prestigious accolades will include the Bob Mann Award for Excellence in Post-Production, the Janet Woods Award for Best Producer, and the Spiess Award for Lifetime Achievement in Television Advertising.

The 2012 Bessies campaign was developed at Red Urban by creative director Christina Yu, creative team Matt Syberg-Olsen, Dave Barber, Patrick Shing, Joel Pylypiw, producers Andrea Hull and Mary-Claire Barlow.

Filming was shot by director Aleysa Young via Untitled Films with producer Lexy Kavluk, director of photography Vinit Borrison, and casting agent Steven Mann.

Post production was done at Rooster Post / Track & Field, by editor Chris Parkins, online editor Andrew Rolfe. Audio post production was done at The Eggplant.
